The Rocket - Replica of Stephenson's 1829 Steam Locomotive

A replica of George Stephenson's 1829 steam locomotive,  the Rocket, is on display at the Railway Museum in York England.

George Stephenson

George Stephenson was an English mechanical engineer and  civil engineer who built the first public inter-city railway line in the world to use steam locomotives. The Liverpool and Manchester Railway began operation in 1830.
